Opened in May 2012, Karibu has quickly established itself as a popular choice amongst travelers with a reputation for service, style, good food and cleanliness.
Karibu was founded by Leslie (from Corsica) and Kevin (from New Zealand) and now managed by Rhys and Samm from England along with 20 Ugandan staff from Entebbe and around the country.
Food and Drink
In the Mediterranean, food is prepared and eaten with love and passion, a concept brought to Karibu by Leslie and Kevin. We visit the markets daily to buy fresh vegetables, fish and meat for our Mediterranean styled menu.
Karibu serves a lodge-style 5-course set menu that changes daily for dinner, we also serve lunches on request.
Dinner bookings are essential as food preparation begins in the afternoon. Food is prepared slowly and with care. Bread is baked fresh, soups are boiled down from whole ingredients and meat (when applicable) is slow-cooked.
If you are making a reservation, please let us know if you’d like to book in for lunch or dinner and also if you have any dietary requirements.
Karibu’s bar has a wide selection of cold, locally brewed beers, selected wines from around the world and a growing collection of single-malt whiskies.
We have three healthy, friendly dogs that are our security, our friends and are very much a part of life at the guesthouse.
While they strictly do not come inside the guesthouse or restaurant they are present on the premises, so if you do have an allergy or fear of dogs please let us know when you make a reservation so we can make the necessary preparations.
